This is a team challenge that is designed as a fun way for riders and horses to transition from from unrecognized Mini-Trials to USEA events. Teams of will consist of 3 to 4 riders, which will be open to all riders but teams are limited to ONE professional on a team.

The Salty, Sassy and Spunky Starter Team Challenge is aimed to be competitive and fun was well as promote collegiality for riders and horses the entry level of USEA eventing. A team jog will occur Saturday morning. Upper level rider Amanda Wilson of Dark Horse Farm will be leading an educational course walk. There are four team awards: 1) best scoring team, 2) team with the oldest cumulative age, 3) team with the youngest cumulative age, and 4) best team name — to be voted on by all horse trial participants. Along team awards, individual prizes for oldest horse, youngest rider, best scoring horse trial virgin, and best scoring OTTB.

It’s not too late to enter and if you’re already entered it’s not too late to be on a team. Just e-mail and let Penne know your team name who’s on your team. You don’t have a team? No problem, we can put you on a team.

  • Future Event Horse Classes:  Friday afternoon May 11. In hand classes for yearlings through 5 year olds and the NEW  4 year old class where the horses’ gaits will be evaluated under saddle in addition to in hand conformation judging. Click here for rules
